THE PARENTS OF THE BRIDE

Traditionally, the mother of the bride plays a hugely influential and prominent role in organising a wedding, particularly if she is hosting the wedding at her home. She may research local suppliers, attend meetings, make appointments and assist the bride in choosing her wedding dress; she may also be responsible for sending out the invitations and managing the responses and guest list.

The bride’s father may not have much involvement in the planning, however he usually plays a major role on the wedding day, particularly by giving his daughter away and making a speech.
